How to deal with traffic police in Uganda

How to deal with traffic police in Uganda, Our traffic police in Uganda are always inquisitive and attentive. So, expect a pull over more than twice while on your self-drive road trip; always on their green and white-colored matching out-fits (uniform). They will ask for your driving license; lucky you, Your driving permit. Gives you permission to drive on Uganda roads for a period of up to 3 months.

They also will check if the car is insured, the condition of the tires. And the required rescue tools, and anything they want to check on the car. However, all what they need to check on the car are taken care of when renting a car from 4×4 Uganda car rentals unless over speeding.

Ways of holding them

Surprisingly enough, sometimes, you will be pulled over and end up having a friendly chit-chat with an officer. Not all pullovers are because of anything related to the law. But rather a good exercise on the few Luganda/ Swahili words you picked up. Nothing much they have to blame you of if that you did not break the law (speeding, dangerous overtaking, etc.).

However if approved guilty for like over speeding or overtaking or any other things which is not in order. You will receive a fine that owed via bank deposit. If you receive a fine, please keep the ticket and call the 4×4 Uganda Car rentals office for any fine received. They will assist to pay for you and you will refund once you come back upon car hand over.

It will save you a lot of time, and then you can refund us in cash upon car hand over. You are advised to avoid over speeding, dangerous overtaking etc. to preserve the Self Driver’s image and our company. Please driver responsively to save your life and self-driving business from being banned by the Government.
